2010 ISA Junior Sailing Course at Glandore Harbour Yacht Club

 

Glandore Harbour Yacht Club is seeking applications for all levels of sailing instructors for the ISA Junior Sailing Course to be held July 2nd- August 10th 2012

 

 

The Irish Sailing AssociationÕs new Small Boat Sailing Scheme (SBSS) syllabus will be taught to all sailors. If you would like to come and work with us, hereÕs what you need to do-

 

  1. Familiarise yourself with the new SBSS and the modules youÕll be able to teach with your existing qualifications.
  2. Decide if you need to upgrade your qualifications, and book an endorsement course.
  3. Check your Powerboat cert, VHF cert, First Aid cert to see if they are up to date
  4. Contact your Referee(s) and ask them if they are prepared to provide a reference for you.
  5. Print off the application form, and fill it in carefully, making sure to sign the declaration.
  6. Photocopy your certificates
  7. Post the form, photocopies of certs and your letter of application to:

Notes

1.      Helper candidates must be members of Glandore Harbour Yacht Club, hold ISA Level 4 Advanced Sailing Skills Certificate and Powerboat Levels 1 & 2 and be at least 16 years old.

2.      Instructor candidates must hold an ISA Senior, Racing, Advanced or Dinghy InstructorÕs Certificate. Candidates should also have dinghy racing experience and be an active sailor. Experience of working in a team and also with children is desirable.

3.      All Applications : If you have not yet obtained the required qualifications but expect to do so before the start of the Junior Sailing Course, please indicate when you expect to obtain them. It is your responsibility to have your certificates available for inspection
