IOLAIRE SOLD GYPSY GOING IN COMMISSION
SKIPPERS LOOKING FOR CREW REGISTER

DON STREET LOOKING FOR CREW AND HELP ON BOTH IOLAIRE AND GYPSY

The last new letter advised anyone looking for crew berths to send the details to streetiolaire@hotmail.com.
A crew resistery will be kept on the webb site and posted on the window of the Yacht Club.
We will also be starting a skippers looking for crew site.
Skipper should give boat name type, size and type of crew help needed, day sailing, day raceing, overnight cruising along with contact information.
Don Street is starting this crew search. Crew is needed for both Iolaire and Gypsy read below of an historic occasion.

As I approach my 80th birthday July 26 there is a huge change in my life.
Iolaire has reached her 105 th birthday and after 53 years and two months ownership she has been sold.
She is going off to a new home in Devon, to a new owner who is ideal for her, sailor, boat builder, electonic computor
specialist so the electric drive controler box does not phase him.
I am turning Iolaire over to him the end of June, fully rigged and checked out by a sail from Baltimore to Glandore and probably a couple of day sails our of Glandorebefore we leave for Devon.
I will be sailing with him to Devon to show him how everything works and how to get the best performance out of Iolaire.
We will probably need a couple of crew from GHYC.
There is work to be done on Iolaire and her dinghies in Old Court boat yard.It is sanding and varnishing plus a list of small jobs some of which will be a learning process for anyone helping.
I need to hire at least one person to help me six days a week for the next month. For a week or so I could use two people.

The weekend of June 19/20 will be commissioning and sailing to Glandore
Commissioning will actually start Friday June 18.Help is needed for commissioning and sailing to Glandore plus some evening sails june 20/25. Any one interested please contact me.

Iolaire is leaving Glandore but Gypsy which has not been in commission for a few years is going back in commission. She will be doing all the Dragon racing .
Dragon racing schedule will be posted some time this week. Races will be two short ones rather than one long one.
The last two weekends in August will be the Rose Bowl and the Dragon Derby, twenty races in two weekends .
Besides racing, Gypsy will be sailing at least three afternoons a week.
About 1700 she will be sailing for 1 1/2 to 2 hours a combination crew training and plain relaxed sailing.
Because of a change in the dragon regulations, if the crew is under the weight limit, a dragon can be raced four up. Thus Gypsy is looking for THREE crew, but I want to train SIX crew so that I know that three will always be available.
Those interested in crewing on Gypsy, please contact me.
Needless to say Gypsy will need some work so if the crew can give me a hand on Gypsy and/ or Iolaire it would be greatly appreciated

Crew Wanted for Dragon Gypsy

About the end of the first week in June Gypsy will be moved down to the dock were Street will be recommissing Gypsy for the racing season. Because of the present weight restriction and the size of Street he will be racing Gypsy 4 up, so will be looking for three crew.

Since crew are not always available he is looking for six crew which he will train. Gypsy besides racing will be sailing (weather permitting) three afternoons a week from about 1700 to 1900.
The afternoon sails will be a combination of race training and relaxed evening sailing.
Needless to say he would like help re commissioning Gypsy.
